We also encourage all agents to preview the property either the day before, or arrive 30 minutes before the photographer to help ensure everything looks great!
Pre-Photoshoot Home Prep Checklist
A simple guide to help your home look its best on photo day
Before the Photographer Arrives
Whole Home
☐ Tidy all rooms and put away clutter
☐ Clear countertops, tables, and floors
☐ Hide personal items (mail, photos, toiletries, pet items)
☐ Turn all lights ON and replace any burnt-out bulbs
☐ Turn ceiling fans OFF
☐ Open blinds and curtains evenly
☐ Remove pets from the home or keep them secured
Living Areas
☐ Straighten furniture to create open walkways
☐ Fluff pillows and neatly fold throws
☐ Turn TVs OFF
Kitchen
☐ Clear counters as much as possible
☐ Put away dishes, sponges, and towels
☐ Empty sink and wipe down surfaces
☐ Remove trash, recycling, and pet bowls
Bedrooms
☐ Make beds neatly
☐ Clear nightstands and dressers
☐ Put away laundry and loose clothing
Bathrooms
☐ Clear counters completely
☐ Put toilet lids down, remove plungers and cleaning brushes
☐ Remove bath mats and personal items
☐ Hang or fold towels neatly
Exterior
☐ Move cars out of the driveway
☐ Hide trash bins, hoses, and tools
☐ Tidy outdoor furniture
☐ Sweep entryways and walkways
Quick Final Check (5–10 minutes)
☐ Walk through each room and remove anything distracting
☐ Do a quick look from the street for curb appeal
Helpful Tip:
Homes photograph best when they feel bright, clean, and open. If you’re unsure about an item, it’s usually best to put it away.
